Anyone actually had a max wedge intake setting on a set of the 270 trick flows? How does look? Will you need a spacer between the block and intake in the front and back of the block?

Are you asking about an original cross ram intake? If so then yes you'll need some valley rail spacers.

It’s a raised port head...... so you’ll need spacers.

Mine came out to 5/16. I bought a stick of 1 inch aluminum and cut pieces. A friend set it up on his Bridgeport and milled the angles on them. Andy F had a real nice valley tray fabbed up on a 470. Birdtracker

Yes I am talking max Wedge cross ram. So for a flat hood 1963 plymouth the 240's ported to max wedge might be a better choice?

You would need to mock it up to know for sure. The TF 240 heads are taller than an OEM cast iron head so a mock up is the only way to know how things will fit.

The TF240 heads are taller overall than the oe heads, with a raised vc rail that has the inner edge standing proud of the intake manifold face.

If you could get the intake on past the vc rails, I seriously doubt you’d be able to get a valve cover on or off with the manifold in place.

The last time I used a factory type MW intake was 10+ years ago. I had to modify the bottom side of the intake to clear the valve covers on Indy heads. Those crossrams were designed to work with a specific set of parts and once you start swapping them on other heads you have to double check everything.

And...... the raised port Indy heads actually increase the available space between the underside of the manifold and the VC area.

I can tell you that with stock MW valve covers on stock MW heads with an oe MW manifold...... but changing to HS rockers....... it’s a real chore to get the valve covers off and on.

Similar deal, cross ram on -1 Indy heads. I just used a normal -1 valley tray. this left an air gap between the manifold and china walls. Rounding the bottoms of the outer carb stud bosses on the cross ram makes removing Indy cast covers easy. For what its worth the Indy cross ram makes WAY more power, 50hp minimum from 4000 rpm up. Adds 1000 rpm to peak as well.

That is true. The original cross ram doesn't make great power but people like the way the look. I did a bunch of dyno testing with the factory cross ram and it was the worst of all of the MW intakes. But I understand why people like them. They do look cool when you pop the hood.

The other thing about the stock MW intake is, the drivability is really quite good for a hot street type deal.

I like stock look cars that run good. I'm looking for 500 hp. 520 4.375 rb stroker, trick flow 270 heads,10-10.5 compression cross ram and max wedge exhaust manifolds. 3.23 gear and 3200-3500 converter, 625 street demon carbs. 1.60 RAS isky rockers. Dwayne Porter Cam. ,

Your going to have to block off 3 of the 4 barrels to get that little bit of power work No kidding tsk
I just finished dyno testing a pump gas 505 C.I. motor with a set of Eddy RPM with a Eddy Performer RPM intake and a 850 Holley carb that made 552.8 HP at 5100 RPM and 643 Ft. Lbs. from 3800 to 4100 RPM boogie
Me thinks your motor will make well north of 650 HP and almost as much torque as HP up

Cab the cam is going to be small and it's going to have stock cast iron manifolds. It might do 525. But that will be enough. Should be very driveable. I'm going to put air conditioning on it.

Trust me that your motor will make way over your expectations boogie up
The first motor I built and dyno tuned on a new DTS engine dyno was a stock stroke 413 industrial truck blocked bore to 4.250 and I reused the original 413 forged steel crank that was in the car when it was sold to the customer as a original 1962 Dart 413 M.W. low compression (11.25 to 1 back then was low for the drag race motors)car.
I reused the intake, heads, carbs and had a small(260 @.050 with right at .560 net lift at the valves) solid lifter flat tappet cam ground for street use for that motor. It ended up with 9.3 to 1 compression ratio and made 500 HP at 6200 RPM on CA pump swill back in the mid 1990s shruggy
My message is you have better heads, a lot more C.I. and probably a lot better set of carbs to start with than that motor I built back then shruggy work
Please let us know what it actually produces devil

Here is a 512 with EZ-1 heads - I just used the indy valley plate works good - with that big of a stroke you will make more than 500HP easy. I do agree though with HS rockers getting valve coveres off is a PITA
