Rear hatch and window locks weren't working when I bought it. Replaced the latch motor for the hatch lock, worked great as did the widow latch...for about six months. Doesn't latch any more, nor does the rear window lock work. Before I start digging into it, suggestions on places to start looking and common failure points that may expedite analysis?

No experience with Jeeps but ran across several 4runners (including mine) that had broken wires in the hinge area. work

I think I would start by lubing the latches and making sure they were adjusted correctly.

Started looking into the harness between the hatch and body this past weekend. I did find a wire with cracked insulation, so I fixed that. Other wires were all intact. Everything in the hatch still doesn't work.

Didn't notice any unusual wear on any of the latch mechanisms and all body seams around the hatch were even.

Search continues.
