Small Block 360", Pump gas, Eddy Heads, Tunnel Ram, OEM Leaf Springs, 3300lbs...

1.50 60'
4.31 330'
6.73@102.54mph

I've changed from OEM leaf spring to Calvert Monoleafs. Should drop my 60ft I hope.

My goal is run at 6.5 that should run 10.5 at 1/4mile.

It's interesting to look at the 60's in this post. Compare with the 330's. 60ft varience can be do to power, gear, converter. All without ever being affected by chassis/suspension/tire spin.

Best 60' times are achieved through careful coordination of the whole package, including carb. accelerator pump tuning, converter, gearing, suspension and everything else mentioned.

I've gotten 1.47 60' times while running only low 11-teens (117 mph)/high 6.90's in a 3,540+ lb 360/904/4.86 gear footbrake Dart on 9" tires & SS type springs. (I'm at work and don't have my log info handy.) But there are other similar Stock class type care that 60' even better with similar ET/MPH. It takes lots of testing, tuning and often trying a lot of various parts.

Not to discourage their use, but I know of one racer who swapped from SS style leaf springs to Cal-Tracs and he didn't gain anything. But he likely had his suspension working as efficiently as possible already, which isn't easy. The Cal-Tracs do have much more adjustability than SS springs. The change did save some weight also and it was redistributed in the car for maximum benefit.
