Hey y'all I have a 1967 plymouth belvedere 1 two door sedan, Iam planning on using a U.S. tool spring relocation kit, also narrowing the 8 3/4 rear possibly 2" or 3". The wheels Iam using are 15 x 10 with 3 3/4 inch backspace.Factory wheel wells will be cut out replaced with wheel tubs. I have a bare e-body rear end housing Iam going to have cut down. Has anyone here done the same thing? Can y'all share your set ups? Iam hoping for around a 14x32 slick at this point.

I don't think a 14X32 will make it with stock frame rails...maybe a 13x31.

I run all stock sheetmetal and rear end dimensions, so I can’t verify. But I would guess with a 32” tire, you’ll likely have to move the axle location rearward an inch or more. The leading edge of the fenderwell is fairly tight on my 28x9’s down low on the rocker where it cuts in front of the tire.

The 1966 and 1967 dodge and Plymouth B body have a very small wheel well opening, I have a 1966 Dodge Deluxe two door sedan that I stretch the front wheel opening around five inches so I could move the rear end forward to shorten the wheel base up two inches for better traction and get more clearances for taller tires thumbs scope I move the spring into the rear sub frames also thumbs This is a street car, not a all out race car shruggy
I do own a 1967 Satelite hardtop also, both cars have similar wheel well openings whiney

Just got my car back in August I had mini tubbed done along with leaf springs moved in with subframe connectors. I tried using 15/10 inch wheels with 4.5 bs it didn't work so a quick call to Moser in went a new D60 now I'm able to fit a 12 inch wide wheel using 29-10.5w tire, keep an eye on the lip on the qtr that rolls inward

P.S with that wheel combo it measures 14.5 across

Thanks for the info guys. The original sheet metal is long gone in the quarters. It has some junk repro-quarters that were bulged like Jimmy Addisons silver bullet, so iam not worried about cutting here and there.

67mprfan.. how wide was the dana60 you put in? That's the look iam going for.

If I remember correctly it's 54 and some change I would have to measure it for correct width.... I also have the us car tool relocation kit along with Cal tracs on mine..... PS when using their kit double check the strips ensure they are cut straight

I run a 315/60-15 (~30" tall, ~13.5 section IIRC) on a 15x10 7.625 BS. springs relocated, fabricated tubs, patch panels relocated.

For the height you will need to stretch the opening, get creative with patch panel placement, or move the rear back

66-67 bbody are toughest car to get some tire in the rear. small wheelhouse area....restrictive outer quarter panel design, hidden hump high in wheelhouse area, frame rail almost inline with inner wheelhouse... lol you can fit a larger tire in the front than you can in the rear! chop, cut rebuild, narrow housing, frame rails moved in, leaf springs moved in, larger wheel tub, trim outer quarter panel lip, stretch outer quarter panel opening...thats a start...

Thanks, I think the narrowed rear and 10.5 is my best bet at this point.

Mini-tubs with springs into the frame rails and proper backspacing will allow a 28x10.5. The extra ht of a 29.5 looks killer, but again, would likely require more work.

Good luck, post some pics of what you end up with! πŸ‘

Tubs moved to the frame rail, springs moved in and with a 7 1/4” back spacing you can get a 10” wide rim in there but a 9” fits a little better.

Back when I did it the only 10” wide rim with 7 1/4 β€œ backspacing was a centerline.

The current 67 I am working on i am going for a 10” wide rim with only 3 or 4 inches of backspacing and I will narrow the rear to fit.

who is that guy?
