I always wondered, if you have to use an ultrabell anyway is it worth using the 518, or just go with a 4l60 or something else? I am putting a 48re behind one....

I always wondered, if you have to use an ultrabell anyway is it worth using the 518, or just go with a 4l60 or something else? The best transmission I have ever owned and driven is an Extreme Automatics built 200R4 with a Precision of New Hampton 3800 stall, lock-up, billet converter bolted to my 408 Magnum with a Reid bell housing. They can be built to handle up to 1000 hp & 800ft lbs of torque, are more efficient and are compact. I didn't have to cut my floor either.
1970 Plymouth 'Cuda #'s 440-6(block in storage)currently 493" 6 pack, Shaker, 5 speed Passon, 4.10's 1968 Plymouth Barracuda Convertible 408 Magnum EFI with 4 speed automatic overdrive, 3800 stall lock-up converter and 4.30's (closest thing to an automatic 5 speed going)
