I’m trying to decipher my build sheet
According to the sheet from what I can gather line 2 says
E63 engine - 383 v8 single 4 barrel carburetor (8 cylinder) 335hp orange / 330hp painted blue
D32 trans - 3 speed auto (a727)

On line 4
I can’t quit make out if it’s 085 - 383 4 barrel w/ auto trans and heater ( blue painted and carter 330hp carb)

or 088 - 383 4 barrel w/ auto trans and heater (orange paintedengine and holly carb 335hp)

Proceeded by the next number on the line which is carb - 38 ... 4736s carter avs 1970 383 4 barrel auto trans....

I’m confussed as my matching vin on the block is on a painted orange block. Which to me would mean it’s the 335 hp with holly but why does it indicate a carter carb?

New to this and any help would be appreciated so I can find the right parts for restoring

1970 "badged" B & E-body muscle cars & Chargers with 383 4bbl automatics were orange "HP" engines

the rest were blue Carter 330hp versions

lots can happen over 48+ years - it could've been painted orange 30 years ago

But the vin when you search it is for a 8 cyl 383/330hp 4 barrel high performance

That’s why I’m so confused as the vin on the motor matches all other vins on car

It’s a 1970 barracuda bh23nob

Sounds like it should be a blue engine

Is it stamped HP on the pad by the distributor?
Does the barracuda have an axle package?

The "N" in the VIN is simply 383 with 4bbl

just says F383 then a funny symbol the X

No HP means it's not an HP engine, 383 4 bbl, the funny X is a Maltese cross, indicates an undersize .
