Trying to get to latest opinions. I need some pre-made wires for a MSD pro billet distributor. 383, headers, daytona sensors ignition. MSD is $107 from summit, firecore are $125 plus shipping. I'd be surprised if there is a hp difference, I just want a good set of wires that fit and won't fail. thanks !

I would not even think about it, Firecore for me.

The other company has Made my Spark Disappear too many times.

My Firecore set was already cut to perfect length out of the box and came with numbered clips. The MSD street fire set I had on the shelf and just installed on another car required me to cut 4"+ off each one because they were excessively long. That sold me going forward.

I used many sets of MSD wires over the years without issue. I bought a set of Firecore wires last year and like them too.

I will say, the MSD pre-made wires are not that great of a fit length wise but, the Firecore wires fit nicely. The last two sets of MSD wires I made myself. Nothing wrong with either but, for pre-made, the Firecore wires are definitely better as far as fitment goes.

Firecore will custom build the wire set for your engine, just fill out the form with type of ends & lengths .

Regardless who makes them, I assemble my own wires to get the fit that I want. Every situation is different with headers, accessories, etc., and it's easy to do. Doesn't require hundreds of dollars worth of tools.

If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.

Thats great I used to do that, but now I measure out each wire to fit how I want them routed, order them & they come with #'s on them & nice factory crimped ends ready to install.

100% Firecore! I've had them on my last 5 cars and love them. Perfect fit every time and excellent quality.

I've ran MSD and Firecores, no problems with either other than the Firecors were a mile long on my small block. My current wires are Magnecore, I've had no issues with them and they fit well.

I bought some firecore and they don't fit worth a $%*^.They wanted me to measure the lengths and if I was going to do that I would have bought ultra 40

For what it's worth my 6AL MSD box (nothing special) has been pushing spark through a stock distributor and cheap Summit wires through e85 and 20+psi of boost for 6 years now.

Don't get too hung up on the decision.

If it were up to me out of those two I'd pick the fire cores as I know they fit good and Rick seems to stand behind his product.

But if it were me, I'd save the $50 and buy the summit ones.

OK, I found an NOS set of BB wires, now, I noticed some of the plug ends are 45deg's some are 90. Which plugs get the 45's?
