I am looking for a pair of OEM equivelant mufflers for my 1971 Charger R/T 440 4 bbl. I am looking to get rid of the drone of my current Flowmasters...it's getting old!

They have nice stuff for sure, nothing listed for 1971 B Bodies though.

my grandfather had a set from Accurate.... they lasted a year before they rotted out from lack of a weep hole. he ended up going with Dynomax Super Turbo and he never looked back.

inherited a 69 roadrunner from my grand pop.

How do the Super Turbo mufflers compare to OEM sound quality? Any droning at highway speeds? I am looking for a quieter choice comparable to OEM...can be slightly louder.

A couple taps with a hammer and an awl is all it would take to add a weep hole to a muffler. I've done it many times.

I've used the Dynomax Super Turbos on two of my Road Runners, one a 383 & one a Hemi; both had tailpipes & OEM chrome tips, both sounded great & crisp, neither had a drone. Not excessively loud, though certainly audible. The 383 ran stock exhaust, the Hemi was headers & 2.5" all the way out with the tips cut back at the entry to 2.5" ID.

Thanks for the info, I appreciate the feedback!

They are slightly louder and have a nice rumble to it with no drone that I have noticed.

Yes, you CAN add a weep hole but why should you need to do anything that should be there already?

...because sometimes things need a tweak to work as we want them to?
The list of things I've installed over the last 48 years without some fussing over them is pretty short.
