I have wrapped it around the bars and then held there by 4 "C" shaped aluminum straps pinched in place.

I do have another strap from one dust cover hole bent to keep the blanket from contact with the driver side header.

I agree with SportF.... I feel a blanket of the proper material will absorb the energy more so than a shield, buuut.... since the rules for sub 10 requires trans and flex plate shield the CSR piece is what I’ll use.

Any suggestions as who might stock an 838 CSR Super Shield (904 SBM)?

CSR is out and delivery to anybody including Summit Jegs and the like is four weeks out. This is from Summit, CSR has not bothered to answer my email. Another reason I would have rather have done something else. However as Clark said the CSR is all that has a chance to fit.

We ended up getting a CSR Shield from A&A. After some heavy 5lb sledge work and lots of air hammer action we managed to stretch the tunnel enough to fit it in. We originally thought we would have to cut and modify the tunnel, I can't believe how far we are able to adjust the tunnel to fit the shield with plenty of clearance. We also had to cut holes for bell housing bolt access because with the shield there was no way to get to the top 2.
