I have a problem on my 2001 Ram van, here's the symptoms. First off, the cruise control switch, click it on, light comes on, push set, it engages but 2 seconds later light and cruise goes off. Cruise can not be turned on again until ingnition switch is cycled off- on, then it repetes just like before. When this is happening the gear selector light in the dash will go dim or almost off, odometer light doesn't change. Also now at times the engine will shut off like there is a toggle switch turning off and back on very fast.
I have replaced the ignition switch to no avail. Don't know where to go next. Clock spring, PCM, grounds?
Thanks in advance.

Sounds like a possible clock spring issue. The other thing you might do is have a load check done on the battery. The newer vehicles are very sensitive to battery troubles.

Will that buss network reset every time the key is cycled? What-where is that??
I have another clock I can try also.

The buss is the network the modules communicate with each other over

if a buss wire shorts out or goes to open circuit or one of the modules shorts out, it can take the whole network down

It's everywhere. The wiring harness that ties all the modules together as well as the internal wiring of the modules themselves. Look up CAN bus on Google. It ties the power train, HVAC, entertainment center, and whatever else they can think of together. Here is an overview of the system:

Unfortunately, a lot of the links in the document are dead now but it does explain how the network works.

Update on what I found, cruise servo full of rusty water. Installed another, works great. Dash light, removed cluster, stuck in back in, works ok now. Must have been loose on connector.
