Hi,
I have a set of mirrors on my Roadrunner, but they are very sloppy. I set the passenger mirror where I want it and it moves when the car moves. I am hoping there is a way to "tighten" them up or "rebuild" them? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Jim

i remember something from a long time ago [which is strange, i know] in which someone took a drop or two of superglue to either the pivot point or the adjuster cable attaching point [THAT part, i don't remember if it was a remote adjust mirror, or manual adjust], and that tightened it up just the right amount. anyone else remember this ?

That was in Mopar Action and it was on a manual mirror. The op might try to get in touch with the guy that took Julis business, cause I think he does mirrors also.

The driver's mirror is with the cable pivot and the passenger is not. Any idea when that article was out?

No, I can't remember when it was, and it was on the old style like the middle 60s mirrors.

My mirror was really loose. If yours is also, super glue probably won't fix it.
I had a loose passenger mirror. I had to break the glass out, luckily it was all scratched anyways. Once the glass was out, I found that the swedging on one of the retaining posts that hold the mirror retaining plate tight to the pivot ball had broken off, so the retaining plate was only being held on one side. I had to drill the post and install a small screw into it. Once I tightened the screw, the plate was held tight to the pivot ball, and the mirror is nice and tight again. I had a glass shop cut me a new piece of mirror (only charged $25), and the mirror is fixed, ready to be painted. Once the mirror gets painted with the car, I will glue the glass back in. If you want to see some pics, send me an email to chuck.vedra@yahoo.com, as I can't seem to get pics to load up on the site.
