not that I know of. if the area is pitted, you would need to weld it and have it reground on size Right, that is what I was trying to avoid....but I guess i will have to just do that....

A rope seal might work with a "lil bit" of pitting.

A rope seal might work with a "lil bit" of pitting. I learn to hate those type seal back when I was using and building the early Chrysler Firepower Hemi motors before I got enough knowledge on how to install them so they didn't leak Make sure and get the crank seal area as flat as you can before on those seals before installing them No rope short pieces long enough to get between the cap and block either Good luck on getting it sealed up

I would work hard to avoid welding a Bryant crank. I'm not sure the material is very amenable to successful welding. Bryant cranks are supposedly EN30B or their own special blend of 4330V or 4330M. Below is a link describing a welding process for 4330V. While fixing a hole seems like it may be much simpler, it may or may not require preheat and/or postheat. https://vacaero.com/information-resource...components.htmlI'd rather use JB Weld. R.

I would install the front and rear main bearings and upper seal with wheel bearing grease around the seal surface and install the top of the seal in the seal holder on the crankshaft installed in the motor with no side seals and tighten it up and then spin the crank around and then take hard look at the contact pattern on the seal surface on the crank after removing the top of the seal in the seal holder and go from there Good luck
