Just curious, how do you clean your car cover? I am thinking about taking mine to laundromat and use one of their commercial machines and then air dry it at my house. Mine is so dusty I hate putting it on my clean car.

Vacuum it first with a good shop vac. It's easier to vacuum on a car. You will put a tiger stripe when you suck the dust out of it to start. It should make that much difference.

Then take it to a laundromat in an extra capacity machine without an agitator/center.

My wife washed hers in our washer and then we spread out on the car to dry. It was not clean because our washer was too small. She took it immediately to a laundromat and used there large washer and that did the trick. It was real clean when she brought it home.

iagree Correct on the washer with no agitator. Exactly what the directions say for my cover, and that's how I laundered mine.

Two hands, a wash tub, and some baby shampoo...

It dries in the sun...

If you have a front load washer at home, they work well on a light weight cover. For heavy weight I brought them to a dry cleaner. They charged me as a king comforter.

I vacuumed it, took to a laundromat and used their commercial washer. Air dried it at home and it is clean as can be. Smells nice too! Thanks all for the suggestions.

You can periodically vacuum it to keep the dust out.

My cover would not fit in the wash machine. The only thing I could find big enough was a plastic trash can. Actually two trash cans. I cleaned it out real good and put clean water in it. The other I also cleaned out then put soapy water in it along with the cover. I used a short broom handle to agate the cover. Let soak for a while then flip it around and such. After a good while I pulled the cover out by hand ringing it out as I went. The clean area was then placed in the clean water for rinse. Once all in I dumped the soapy water can and rinsed and added some more clean water to it. After a while I transferred the cover to the new water. It was then hung to dry in the sun. This was not water friendly but did a wonderful job cleaning my car covers.
