I haven't started glassing everything together yet. I can go as high as I want, I just didn't want to make some pro stock looking snorkel out of it.

It's a 2-1/2" tall carb cap and a 1" thick chunk of aluminum on top of those for the mock up.

Haven't had much time to continue on project super shaker lately but at least I can say I got to take it to the track now. LOL. Lack of funds creates lack of motivation. I took it Sunday to get it re-certed. That gave me the motivation to get back on the hood/scoop project hopefully this weekend. It looks pretty good outside of the garage... LOL

I went back to the first post to refresh my memory of this build and the first post was from January 2012. Now I feel better about not starting a post on my slow going forward project. Man time fly’s

Man time fly’s Yes, it has taken longer than expected. A divorce in the middle didn't help things much. Single Dad with all three of my kids living with me full time. Well, except my oldest is now in his own condo as of several months ago. One in College & the last one in High school. All three driving now so it seems I am always working on something else other than my car. The Kids always come first.

Your car is flipping awesome. Dream build for me- wouldn't change a thing.
Skip the scoop and make a pass for crying out loud! Thanks. Still needs more than just a scoop. Switch panel, grid, ignition, data logger, Nitrous Timers, gauges, wired from front to back, Gear, axles , spool & Bead locks yet to go among a few other things. Don't sound like much but still is probably another 5-7 Grand worth of stuff. Little by little.

I’m 62 now and I guess I hit a wall late in 2015 after a few back to back health issues. I’m to stubborn to pay someone to do something I can do so that doesn’t help either. I’m still able to hit the track weekly in my mid 9 second bracket car but even that takes a day or two to recover from a long race weekend. Now with knee issues I looked into stem cell injections for faster recovery but that comes in at 7000.00 for one knee and both of mine bother me. Insurance won’t kick in anything towards it yet as it’s track record isn’t long enough yet. Fun fun fun.

I hoped to be out there soon and still hope to be racing when I am 62 as well.

I totally love this car. What does it weigh? I think I read it was all steel?

Haven't been on here in forever. I know, I know. I have been slacking. I have been cruising it around and enjoying it since last summer. No light weight. 3760 loaded in full race trim and me in it. That's with a full tank, both bottles, fire suppression system, exhaust, full interior all glass and all steel except hood..
