Cool, I like ingenuity! Last time I did an air pan it picked up about a tenth. That was on a car running low 10's before the pan.

I got some solid isolators from a friend today. Gonna put just one on the drivers side and see how that works. I currently have a Schumacher turnbuckle and it would be nice to eliminate it. Will paint it black to make them look like rubber. It has a nasty habit of tearing the drivers side rubber ones apart!

The engine limiter in mine works fine, I just don't like the looks of it. I try really hard to stealth things up on this car. Yes, there are compromises (the rollbar drives me nuts as do the Cal-Tracs) but they are necessary evils.

Little projects.
My dash lights haven't worked for quite a while and I was pretty sure it was the headlight switch. Installed a new one and everything lit up!

We had a little problem with the hoodscoop during test and tune as it ripped off going through the lights at 128mph! Scoop wasn't horribly damaged but I don't care for the cut hood anyway as it doesn't fit the car as well as the flat one.
So, to make The Rumble in Bethany, Mo, we put the flat hood back on and put 200 jets in. We tested with 200 but it was really cold (no bottle heater, it's on the list) and we still ran a 10.71 @ 127 with 500 psi of pressure (cold bottle). Heated up the bottle but the track had gone away (45°) so it spun really hard on the last pass of the night. Still ran a 10.8.
We did go to Bethany and won the Gas Coupe/Sedan class setting the fastest time and e.t. I don't recall time as traction was horrible, but ran 104 mph in the 1/8th multiple times!
The 200 shot on the street is an amazing experience!

I deleted the numbers since they recently updated the software and the earlier numbers were way off.
A few weekends ago, we entered an event with a 6.50 index at the behest of a friend. I had only been 6.65 up to this point but knew the weather and prep were going to be on point!
Long story short, I broke out in the first round with a 6.489, nearly a hundredth under the 6.50 I needed to run. ....but there was redemption in that timeslip! The best part was the 1.37 60 ft time! I had only ever been 1.54 best and was amazed that it pulled this time AND the front wheels for quite a ways!

Here is the video of the pass. Yes I was asleep on the tree but it was .400 Pro tree and hard to get a handle on it. We are the first pair down the track. Earlier that night it ran a 6.56 testing so I thought I was good. https://youtu.be/vbXjkCLaNz8

I guess I totally skipped over the high point of my season!
It rained most of the Summer so I really never got a chance to try out the 200 shot. We went to Kansas International for one of their grudge nights. I did a "one and done" as it was getting cold and the track was going away.
Car stumbled a little out of the hole, but finally got deep into the 10's with a 10.40 @ 130 mph! As evidenced by the better 1/8th mile times later on, I'm sure it has 10.30's if not high .20's in it.

Overall, it's been a great 2019!
No breakage this year, more bests, a 1st at The Rumble at Bethany, 1st at Mid America Dragway nostalgia event, quarter finals at Mopars at Mo-Kan and 2nd at KID nostalgia event! 10.40's and 6.50's!
Very happy with the reliability. The only nagging issue is a converter seal that started leaking and will require removal of the trans. I need to pull it apart and check internals anyway!
10.20's next year is the goal.

Last test and tune of the season at Mid America Dragway. Was on a 1/4 mile pass that would have been the fastest ever. The car nosed over at the big big end before the stripe (as evidenced by the low mph). Smoke started pouring behind me and even some inside the car on the return road. Car kept running. ...one hand on the extinguisher bit didn't want to open the hood...
The main power wire that comes off the alternator apparently rubbed through on a sharp edge of the valvecover and started arcing! It burnt ALL the insulation off that wire and made some of the others get really hot! It was amazing that it drove back to the pits and onto the trailer!
At least it happened end of season and I'll just order a new engine harness from Bill Evans.

Offseason updates:
I fixed the wiring as it was a faulty alternator that was the culprit after all. Upgraded from roundback to squareback alternator and did a few other fixes and upgrades to the wiring. The Evans harness was plug and play requiring only a few minutes to replace the old one.
I also took the time to remove the exhaust and weld up the Dynomax muffler on the drivers side again. For some reason it keeps cracking where they stamped "DYNOMAX" into it. Only on the one side, too! While the exaust is off, will probably pull the trans and freshen it as the front pump seal is marking its territory. Great opportunity to check everything out inside as I've been putting a lot of power through a relatively stock trans.

AMD had a 1/2 price closeout sale on some items so I picked up a front valance. My original was pretty beat even after being bodyworked.
Fit great and much improved although it isn't easily seen.
