Well I could have finished it but I am missing a head gasket. I had my wife order my parts and thought the P/N was for a set. When I did a parts inventory the Cometic multi layer gasket looked like 2 were stacked.

I "degree'd" the cam, (I decided to go with a roller set up) and finished most everything I could. If the gasket arrives this week I'll have it running before next weekend

I'll clean the engine bay when it's done

Disregard the stock fuel pump, my Holley was leaking. I'll be back to a Holley soon enough (car is equipped with 3/8 fuel line)

Looking good man! I may be getting another '72 FE5 'Cuda with the V21. There's one up this way, though I haven't seen it yet. If it's not numbers-matching, etc., I'd like to do a modified drive train. I'm tossing around the idea of a 1972 'Cuda V21 registry. What do you think? Something simple..

If you want PM me on the V21 stuff and we can explore options. (a memeber is sending me a 70's V21 article)

This is how the car sits as I type. I had to replace a motor mount and add a Schumaker shim to get clearance for the drivers side header/torsion bar

I had already modified my old Cal Custom valve covers for intake runner clearance years ago but now also had to clearance them on the inside by the 2 bolt holes on the intake side. They contacted the base of the rocker pedestals and the holes wouldn't align. (It actually takes the added gaskets thickness to help or they still wouldn't fit)

I have most of parts to re-complete the exhaust to the new headers(Pypes stainless 2.5", with an X pipe and cutouts), I'm currently lacking push rods and might mail the checker out today to have them made.

Ahh the joy of .060 thick intake gaskets

The orange box is just for pretty the MSD is hidden under dash

EDIT: I just ordered some Pypes collector adapters. Car is also getting the stainless O2 bungs for the wide band set up.

PUSHRODS NEXT: I might mail the adj checker out today or tomorrow... I have to take the baby to go get her driving permit. Of the 3 of my girls I predict she is the heir to the keys

Some intakes don't have provisions for mounting the factory coil bracket (I modified a 6 pack bracket on my old M1) I was happy that the Victor intake had the coil mounts, but then I spaced the fact that the W2 intake bolt spacing differs from stock... ie the factory 72 throttle cable bracket won't work.

I made one from a spare I add this to help the next guy

Thanks Curtis (Tom too) I have just about got my intake perfectly aligned with my ports

Here's one of many planned upgrades... some added whoahhhh to help stop the added go.

I blasted the control arms and dont need them, I could keep them as spares (If anyone needs some PM me)

The intakes bolt holes were off on the passenger side and it took some time but I have everything sorted out now. The port alignment is near perfect now.
I previously had a NEW Victor W2 that the ports mismatched a gasket by about 3/8" so theres a bad run of them still floating around.

I saw a small flaw in a pushrod and Hughes response was AWESOME. No questions he'd have one sent out ASAP. That's service.
