It has never been fired but it is estimated to between 900 and 1000 hp at around 8500 rpm on alcohol
not quite what the nitrous motor makes but still respectable

Well I ended up converting to EFI because I am not smart enough to make the mechanical injection work correctly.

As this is an old thread I thought i would update .
car was finished 11/16 but after 5 trips to the track and never getting it to come off the line I switched to EFI.

Now on the first trip with EFI I ran a 1.30 60 ft and 9.17 at 143.
needing more fuel.
has run 152 mph with the old set up .So hopefully next time out I will get the mph back up.
8 second passes coming soon

My buddy has a Glass bodied 79 CJ-7 with a 442" AMC (4" stroke/6" rod) with a TH400 and a 9 1/2" Ultimate converter. It just ran 12.02 @ 107.8 at Rockingham last week.

Love those FBS heads, aren't they essentially the forerunner of the BBM Indy-1's adapted to a AMC deck?

I talked to Fred many years ago, he tried to sell me the core boxes for his AMC and mopar castings. Thought hard about it!

Yeah Zeeker,

Interesting the AMC has a 9.200 deck like a small block 351 Cleveland ford with a comparatively big bore. It’s based on the original Buick v6 architecture if I remember right.

Very nice looking car. I like the stuff you don’t see every day. Nice execution.

Nice looking AMX. We have one in Vegas that runs Top Sportsman that is AMC powered. Also one that run in S/G and S/ST and some TS in NorCal..
