On my 90 ram it appears my only two options for an intake with and offset thermostat housing to clear the a/c compressor are the torker II 340 and the performer 318/360
I haven’t found another intake that will work with the oem air compressor. If you know of one let me know
Currently I have the performer bolted on. Ports are 318 sized and it will need a fair amount of work to get it to match the 340 port LA heads along with taking the divider out

A torker II will give me the bigger ports but it’s a single plane intake.

Here is the combo

90 short bed half ton d150
360 unknown compression lets assume 9:1
Cam @ 50 Duration is 232 / 242 (int/exh)
Adv. Duration is 298 / 308 (int/exh)
Valve Lift is 450 / 475 (int/exh)
Lobe Centers 107 / 117 (int/exh)
Ported la heads 340/360 port size
A518 trans currently has the Stock convertor
8 3/4 clutch sure grip 4.56 gears 30.5” tire
Carter comp 625 afb. Headers
Cam is not installed yet - being a 2 ton truck I’m thinking about advancing it some.

I’ve heard good things about the torquer II and it’s rpm range lines up with the cam
I’m concerned it will kill the lower end.

I’m thinking dial the cam in then move the cam ahead some and stick with the performer. Truck will Likely be 99% daily driven.
Future plans are for a higher stall convertor.
Your thoughts ?

I'd want the dual plane except for all the work this dual plane would entail. I would try a carb spacer if you have the room & yes adv the cam/dial in the dist. I'm thinking the actual SCR (if OE unrebuilt) might be in the high 7's/the truck is heavy. Here's a BTT for ya.

Thanks Robert. I should mention I did put a spacer on

It’s not the oe engine. Rebuilt 70’s engine. Heads are ported heavily.

My performer intake opened up to the 360 heads really easy, I think less than 1" depth? Engine is a 0.030" over 360, with 360 heads but with the 2.02"/1.60" valves and hardened seats. They are ported, but I don't have flow numbers on them? I used the Hughes Engines SEH1620AL with 1.6:1 rocker arms. 670 Truck avenger carb, and headers.

Trying to find that thermostat housing that goes on the Performer is almost nill. The factory ones were thin sheet metal that rusted easily. If you gasket match the intake side all you need to do with the Performer is add a stacker to the top of the intake 1/2 or 1", whatever will fit. The original style Performer. an aluminum factory replacement, suffers from small plenum volume. That extra spacing is worth HP at the track. On the street maybe 5-8. There is an A/C bracket(s) that allow for the use of factory(large) thermostat housing. I only have A/C in vehicles that are daily drivers.

It's been many years ago, but my Volare had a LD 340 with A/C. I'm pretty sure I used the stock cast aluminum T-stat housing.

I’m using the rotary compressor for the a/c.
It sits right above the t-stat on other intake manifolds.

The performer and torquer II have the t stat moved to the drivers side for compressor clearance

Ran the 318/360 Performer on my iron-head 406" street motor with AC. Good fit, just matched ports a bit. Ran a Thermoquad, which limited intake choices, but it all worked very well.
