This is kinda a what if question. Let’s say i was to leave the ESC intact and just do a cam swap, leaving the Holley 2280 carb on it,would the truck still run well?

I would say no, because the ESC is set up for the stock cam and runs exceptionally lean. No way to adjust . . . if you change cam, change to standard electronic ignition and regular carb . . . just less headaches in the end . . .

I was just toying with the idea anyways. I thought maybe because it only controls spark advance it might work. Oh well.

The stock carb is set up to run very very lean . . . this was Ma Mopars first attemp at trying to computer control things, but who puts the electronics on the air cleaner where it is vibration city ????. . . I had a 77 New Yorker that the computer was way wacked out, and I changed BOTH the ignition system AND Carb, back to "regular" stuff . . .worked great after that !!
