After cutting a fresh 18 ga. patch, I welded it in place.

I also cut out the rot at the rear seat belt support. I'll need to cut out a section beyond that, but I cut out enough to get the floor pan in today.

With these tasks done, I focused on bending the floor to the new configuration.

Here are the floor divots. Because these are longer, they caused the metal to pull more instead of stretch (as in a die), so I had to massage the panel to get it back into proper proportion after the divots were struck.

I also shaped the right side of the pan, and the rear of the pan to match existing contours. In addition, I marked and pre-drilled weld holes to make it simpler to attach to the floor supports. I'll still have to drill and complete the other side.

I clamped, tacked, then began installing the pan. I seem to be getting a bit more experienced with the welding. My beads aren't nearly as high as the other side (less grinding) and penetration is good. I slowed WFS and increased gun speed a tad bit (less heat on the area).

The stitching method is also working well. Who knows? I may make a novice welder, yet!

Here is a full view of the job so far:

May 18 and 19 Progress:

I spent time after work Monday and Tuesday working on the cab.

I filled in the right side trim holes, welded the floorpan to the rocker panel assembly, and welded the front seam of the floorpan more completely.

The trim holes:

I also welded the door jamb foot back onto the rocker panel - it broke loose somehow.

Today (Tuesday) I cut the upper level of the right side floorpan and attached it to the existing floor. I drilled and welded the pan to the floor support, cut out the right wing panel for the floor pan and installed it, too.

The right side pan assembly installed:

My wife dropped by this evening and snapped a shot of me working on the cab.
