I seem to have trouble finding pictures on Moparts.
I keep getting blocks where pics once were saying something about third party hosting or, links that don't work.
Tried OSX and Windows, tried 3 different browsers.

argh

I hate to keep bothering folks here but if I could get some pics of fuel cell mounts- sure would appreciate it.

I'm hoping to stay above the new trunk pan- maybe.
I like the idea of tank/pumps being easily serviced and out of the elements and, its one less penetration for tire smoke/exhaust gases.

any help appreciated.

Rule book doesn't give a great deal of guidance beyond common sense.

I will say I got a good bely laugh at: No fuel lines in transmission tunnel!!

Really??
grin- gee, wonder how that rule got in the book!!

Thanks guys- best place I have found for help is "Team Moparts".

My 64 Belvedere. Fuel pump/battery brackets are 3/4" angle steel. Cell mounts are 3/16" aluminum. 5 years, over 500 passes, no cracks, no leaks.

I didn't want to trust the little 2" wide tabs welded to my aluminum cell upon the G-Forces from launching, impact from wheel stands or in case of a crash, etc so I made an aluminum frame to help enclose the cell all around.

I have seen these tabs leak around the welds over time before. Makes me feel better anyway. Also made aluminum support rails from underneath so it is not just bolted thru the sheet metal trunk pan so it cannot pull thru in case of a crash or roll over. I also have a roll over valve in the upper vent line to avoid spillage if upside down.

Welcome to the Photobucket "enhanced" experiance.

As long as you have a proper firewall, and the tank is vented outside the body, everything can stay in the trunk. I prefer this and haven't run anything through the floor in years. You will have to get the main line out of the trunk, under the car and up to the engine compartment. A bulkhead fitting with appropriate plumbing is best, a hole with a grommet is cheaper. Mounting depends on tank shape and size. On a real race car, I wouldn't use anything larger than 5gal. The mounting methods in the photos I see look fine. Or you may want to express your creativity.

If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.
