I'm putting together a hemi motor that has a set of polished cast aluminum valve covers, I had to clean them inside and out to get the polishing residue out and I need to find a good polish and wax for them to clean and protect them. I have a can Neverdul but I'm wondering if there is better stuff to use on them Thanks in advance for the help

Have had a tube of it for a lot of years... Mostly for the shootin' irons... Along with a can of Nevr-Dull... There's a lot of aluminum-specific products out there today...

I had to clean them up inside with solvent to get the polishing residue out of them, they where wrinkle black paint bake on originally. The solvent wiped off okay with a old tee shirt but I want to make sure they are clean once I'm done working on it after the dyno testing is done. Thanks to all of you on helping me on this Pay it forward

Can you use Autosol on chrome? I see some different versions and some say not to use on certain things. I would not standard equipment autosol on chrome, it may scratch the finish.....and the O.P. is talking about polished aluminum.

If they have al ready had a high polish put on them. Do not touch with never dull. Ya be sorry. If ya had alum that has never had polish work on them. Never dull is a good start. But the wool fibers will make it look like ya sanded it with 1000 grit sand paper. I did a spot on a tunnel ram with a mirror shine. I was mad after. And had to have it redone/touched up Mother mag wheel polish a old t shirt and elbow work. Will make huge differance. If your still getting black. Then it's still pulling dirt out of the pores of the metal
