There were some 9 1/4 inch, 8 lug axles used in the later 1980's light duty 3/4 ton trucks. These were fairly uncommon. I've only recall seeing one of these axles. No idea if similar axles were also used in Vans.

I can NOT recall how the hubs were made on these axles. Maybe someone else will have more information.

No full floating but yes there were some 8 lug 9.25.

I've seen more in vans than pickups.

I put axle shafts in a B350 maxivan a few years ago. Was a fulltime flea market guy that loaded it down but good. The axles both had alot of wear right at the outer bearings. I do recall them just being C clip style with 8 stud wheels.

Just checking on alternative rears, mine has a Dana 70 -4.10 ratio. They make a 3.54 ratio but it's like $550, probaly find a whole assembly cheaper than that. I want something down in the low 3s so it's not ringing at 75 mph. Just a road gear, not towing or loading the truck with weight. It's a 2001 Ram Van 3500
