Duane. That's some very nice work you've done with those. How do you tell if a head has core shift? Do you look at the chambers and the positioning of the valve cuts? Ivenoticed on different sets of heads that some shrouding is different from one chamber to the other. Is that how you tell? Thanks

I took an entire six pack system, heads to aircleaner in trade back in 1975. Wish I had it today!! I took it in place of $600 on a 440 motor I sold. This stuff is HARD to find, if you can. The guy I got the parts from is still first owner of the AAR Cuda, and I know he would sell his soul to get that engine top end back! blush

I think everyone would be shocked at the amount of "still" stockish engines and heads people request work on..., because this crew mostly hangs here on the Race site, its not always visible, how many regular old iron heads are still in service, and servicable for that matter....boats street drivers, even some industrial stuff.....I see it in all brands still, with the BBF guys still loving the big iron 460 heads. There is still a demand for some iron.Dwaynes work top notch as usual.

Since this is a cool thread, I thought I'd bring it back up with a set of old iron I'm puttering with. These are some old 906's I'm going to try to resurrect. First job is installing step guides for the smaller stem valves. I'm waiting on valves, so I'm just doing spring pads and guide install for now, I'll do the VJ when I get the valves in. 5/16 intakes and 11/32 exhausts. Yes, the heads are still scuzzzy, that's by design, going into a bit of a sleeper setup. S/F....Ken M
