I'm switching my 69 B body with power steering and auto trans to manual. Will an A body box/column work on a B body? From what I can gather they should...I found a complete set up and just want to be certain before I buy.
Thanks

The manual box will but I ain't sure about the col (I have my doubts) & it is a pkg deal so I'm thinking you would want to pass, but wait for a definite ans on the col.

If anything I'm thinking the shaft might come up short. It comes with as steering wheel which looks like mine...which is probably beyond repair, so the combo might be worth getting anyway as the price seem reasonable.

Yes you cannot ever have too many parts in your stash so I would go ahead & buy it cuz you will have a use for it "one of these days"!

the column won't fit cuz the outer housing is also too short and the mounting brackets are at different positions.

Two different pitman shaft diameters. Make sure that the correct pitman arm is available to fit .

Thanks for the input. I'm rebuilding the front end so the pitman arm should not be an issue. According to some others the mounting may not be a a problem as the mounting holes are the same on both columns, it the hardware that is different, which I should be able to re-purpose from my auto column. I'm sure the missing piece of the puzzle will be the length. I'm going to proceed as planned. I priced out the parts to convert mine with the collar kit from Tony's...$125, manual adapter from Mancini...$185 and the steering wheel, with the horn ring and pad I need is around...name you're price. I also have and early B body auto, column that might come in handy too....I would still appreciate some additional comments good or bad on the subject though.
