Hello Mr P, I like Wallace racings' CR calculator. www.wallaceracing.com scroll down to & click on "automotive calculators" & there are dozens of em for multiple functions. EDIT The United Machine one is VG also.

The bit about how far down is the top ring is good, but there appears to be no input for "what diameter is the dome above the ring land?".
