I use a set of old school elephant ears with a solid welded passenger side stock mount. The trans mount is poly. This set up is low buck, strong, and solved my external oil line clearance problem. I run 10.90-11.00 @ about 660 hp.

ok lets scale down to a super comp dragster, same deal. they are held on the front by 2 aircraft type water hose clamps and they are not held against the rear end. they do have a coupler but it's loose fit. and with all the flexing you say wouldn't that make it worse? my point is the heavy duty front motor plates are not needed imo.

If you wheel stand and run a 1/4" plate and come down hard.... it WILL buckle.... as me. I stepped up to a 3/8" plate with limiters
so will your oil pan and a whole bunch of other stuff

Tony, what exactly is your point? i like the heavier plate because of the 1.cutouts 2. they are made by a member here 3. they are sold by a sponsor here 4. i dont have any extra hose clamps to use as motor mounts

nothing wrong with it, I don't like the triangle cut outs on that one but it's not going to hurt anything. go for it.

I don't care for the triangles. These go with my weld wheels.I bought mine from V & V machine in Wappingers Falls NY.
that looks much better to me, but thats just my opinion.

Hey I didn't want to horn in, but Andy has not replied. I can make your motor plate and we will "customize" it for you.(holes, triangles, solid, we can even put a pentestar in it if you want)
PM me if you are interested.
can you post pics of some plates? i would like to see some different ones
