Let us see, "The dirty Little Secret" is now out! You guys make Chrysler "Skunk Works" look like it was an open door meeting with every engineer from Ford & GM invited too In a responce to a post started by Mopork "Streetwize help hotrod engine contest" the following replies are to be found. Theseare two of the replys that kinda stand out to me.. Dram post # 195764 on 5/11/3 @9:09 pm "as much as i'd like to help, i don't know where i'd find the time. i'm pretty bogged down with other engine projects right now. sorry."
Brain wo post # 195832 on 5/11/3 @9:36 pm "Last I saw they were talking about building one over at moparchat but I have not checked back in over a month. " I guess you guys must have all the money you need, Huh?. Fare thee well! Dave

Maxwedge, those were cover your as$ type posts The main thing was that we didn't want other boards knowing what was going on and to be honest it wasn't Scotts place to announce this. If you had followed the original post you would have known something was up,one minute the guys are talking about entering this contest, then I think Dram says maybe it's time to make this private, then John publicly agrees then all the suddon the post is gone,I am really amazed someone didn't catch this, not much gets past the guys here
who is that guy?

Brain, thanks for clearing up what hapened, altho you guys did do good job at being stealthy. February, & March a very busy times for me, so I probably missed the original post.
Anyway my rhetorical questions still remains "I guess you guys have all the money you need, Huh?"Dave

If the engine ever runs and gets even to that qualifying, it proves that there is a bunch of really dedicated and extraordinary guys here! It's so easy to make plans and imagine, but really doing it is completely another story. Doing it with this kind of a "community" is very very unbelievable and extraordinary. I'll hold my thumbs up to you guys!

It surely is not going to be an easy task. Much tougher when a group from all over the country have to decide who has what, who will buy what, and then ship the stuff all around for the work and finally to the place for assembley. From there to the dyno, and then the test facility.. Just the fact that there IS going to be an entry is amazing in and of itself. The easy way would have been to ship a bunch of money to one person and let them do it all. But, then it wouldnt be this unique group effort we got going.
The showing will be respectable and I totally believe a few people will be surprised. Were in it to win it. Anything less will end up being..... A whole lot of fun doing!!
Thumbs up guys!

yes a typo , well it wasn't late , i have no idea where my head was ... watch it ...
yes un , i could have just sent DRAM my credit card and told him to go nuts , the way we are doing it is definitely making it a MOPARTS effort .

JohnRR, I'm the bozo that e-mailed you my 470" blueprint last nite. Thought maybe you guys might get a part number or spec from it. If you or Dram can figure a 'stealthy' way to let some of us know what parts you need, maybe we can help that way. & maybe assign a 'treasurer' that donations can be mailed to. If over 6,000 members have shown interest in this, imagine what a couple of bucks from each one could do. Sounds like a lot of board members want to be a part of this. Just let us know. http://hometown/aol/com/lyndeldan
