Just curious. Considering pulling the slant six and 3 speed.
I sold the 84 Swb truck body. The 440 and 727 need a new home!
If anyone has done this, it would be good to hear any drawbacks. I do know the cooling system has to be capable.

I don't think it's possible in the stock position if you still want to drive it from the stock position. There just isn't enough room. You could set it back some and maybe get away with it.

I have heard of a few being done in stock position. I do know that trimming on floor/ back of doghouse is needed to clear bellhousing. I plan on doing a mustang 2 front suspension with triangulated four bar in the rear. All I can do is try. I put one mid engine in a VW bus once, similar to Mopar Ron's setup... If it needs to be mid engine, then I will just build a 408 stroker, and stay stock location.

How much clearance between exhaust manifolds and doghouse? Also, did you have to raise the lid, and how much if so?

I have seen three 68 A100 vans with big blocks in them. One a 426 max wedge, one a 413, and one a 440, no fitment issues. I really wanted to buy the 413 van as it was a fire department van and sure looked factory! shock
