Say since the year 1990...........I have to start a thread like this again because I love the stories.

I recall finding a 59 Caddy Hearse in a private hillside yard around 2001...very rusty but cool....$500 and I balked....

I lost the pics but around 1999 I found a small rural yard...guy had stacks of cars, and one stack had three challengers...bottom one was an RT...and the roof was smashed down a bunch...

I love the pic that someone posted on here of the crumpled up shaker hood laying in an old junkyard....

As for parting, I parted some rusty 68/9 Chargers but nothing super rare.

I have pictures from the later 1970's, of an AAR Cuda, and T/A Challenger
sitting in the rows of Mopars at Mather Auto Wreckers in Rancho Cordova, (Sacramento) California.
Back in the day they were the biggest Mopar only, wrecking yard in Northern California.
There were probably other "rare" low production cars there, back in the day, but i really don't remember.
They had everything that you could think of back then.
I would go there on a regular basis, when i was in the Air Force, as they were right out the back gate from Mather Air Force Base.
I never really needed anything for my cars, but they let me wander around all the time, as we got to know one another very well.
Back then i owned a 71 Hemi GTX, 4 speed car, and a 71 Cuda with a 440 6 pack, transplanted into it, that i raced all the time, at Sacramento Raceway.

Back around 1984, a friend and I parted a matching number AAR Cuda. It was FC7 with a white interior, 4 speed car. The car was complete with fender tags and a broadcast sheet. It was something that no one would do today.

Back in the late 1980's I was at a yard in NC. I came upon a 1971 Cuda convertible with a 383-4, pistol grip 4 speed. B-7 blue. Not much left of the car then as it was wrecked and parted out. I did buy the Rallye instrument cluster and bucket seats. Back then they were just gas hogs and nobody went to the lengths to save cars we do now.

Around 1987 a 69 Hemi Roadrunner, 69 Formula S Barracuda 383 4-speed, 74 Cuda 360 4-speed in triple black. I drove both Cooders to my house and when done took the carcasses to the crusher... realcrazy

FM3 340 4-speed Duster - parted after the Carlisle show this year.

It was in the A-body section with 'Ruster Duster' graphics, I am sure many of you saw it.

Numbers now destroyed, title voided & the carcass has gone to the scrap yard in lots of small pieces.

Dead cars stay dead around here.

Two identical Mod Top 69 Satellites in two different junkyards. One car may be gone by now, but the other is still there. I have never seen a mod top car other than those two.

Same yard also has a few 70-71 E bodies, a 68 Coronet R/T, a California Special Buick GS, 67 and 68 442, and plenty of other stuff. It's all priced at Ebay or better prices so your not getting a deal on anything. The yards that have old cars here are on large pieces of land so the cars don't get stacked, and can sit there until everything is gone, which is good. The pick-a-part yards will smash anything after a few weeks or months.

A few years ago my dad was dropping off some scrap metal at a recycle yard that took anything metal, including cars. Some guy turned in an orange 70 Challenger 383 car that was missing some parts, but still savable. The guy kept it around for a few days hoping someone would buy the whole car, but I don't think anyone did.

I parted a ‘70 ‘Cuda 383 4-spd 3.55 Perf axle pkg in the mid-90’s. It was all numbers matching and the unusual color combo of TX9 with a blue interior. While it was a rough car, it was more solid than much of the junk that is for sale these days.

I put a "banana" 440+6 4-speed '70 Challenger R/T convertible body in a dumpster in the mid-'80s - JS27V0B155665

I actually have a picture of the other R/T & yes it has a roof, thanks Barry

71 b body 1 of 23 that I kept the build sheet and FT for, now the car makes it rounds with the so called org. tag and sheet with a couple added options, but they are in a drawer next to me.

I purposely didn't pay too much attention to it because I was after some other parts, but:

I walked by a'57 to '59 something (I'm sure it was a Dodge Royal or D500), convertible, factory manual transmission white and red Dodge.

The hood was partially open, but I could see parts of the intake were missing.

Perhaps one of You might know what this car was: I just didn't spend any time on it, didn't have my camera with me, and had other things to do that day. I do know this: it had big power and was there because the Guys' Brother had wrecked something in the drivetrain racing it.

It looked very similar to this car and as far as I know it's still there:

How about a 70 Hemi GTX 4 speed car, the asking price was $250.00. No driveline butootherwise complete, including the air grabber hood. It was sold before I could raise the money. I parted out a few Charger R /Ts and Road Runners.

155655 was not a convertible, so you can rule it out.

About 20 years ago I helped a few friends build a demo car, '70 Fury S23, 383/727, was really straight before they started on it, a few years before that, a neighbors kid driving his dads '69 Hemi Road Runner, been drinking, hit a car or two and took off, got home, they pulled the motor and had the car scrapped the next day, I guess this wasn't juniors first time doing this.
A friend has a '69 Chevelle SS396/375hp 4-speed car, gutted it, including wiring, butchered the tunnel for a PG, to go street racing, this was in the early 90's, still has the car, in his chicken coop, here in Lancaster.
