Holy cow! Did not see that one coming. Are these made in USA or is that to much to ask? I’ve seen some of the repop 15 x 7 rally’s wheels that were easily worn around the lugs and some were even not straight from the supplier. Are you confident that these are made right?

these were made at a plant that makes wheels 24/7, so the manufactorers know what they are doing. they are made correctly

thank you

Tony

Can you order them without the part number, for those with early cars?

Can you order just one wheel, for those that just need a spare?

Or order in a quantity of 5, for B bodies that also need a set and a spare?

Thanks
Morty

Morty I'll answer yes since I just ordered one up for my spare.
Tony told me you can get with or without P/N for earlier cars and he dates them for you.
I suggested for him to get the P/n stamp for 72 and later cars like my 72 Satellite "071" wheel.

So, I imagine $4k for a set of gennies is about to come to a screeching halt. A good portion of the demand will shift to Tony.

Hard to say on that, if upon close scrutiny Tony's show even slight deviation there will still be a good market for originals, although the presence of a high quality repro will aleviate a lot of demand so even originals should drop some. So far looks like he killed it! boogie .02

Sounds like it, as he talks about a set of 4 real ones are $4000 and he is selling at less than 25% of that...equals $995.

I just bought real ones 2 weeks ago, quite a price difference! At least the ones I got are date matched for my car so no complaints. Can see a lot of picking people these up.

I just bought a set! I agree that this is a market changer. 450 wheels are sooooo hard to come by, it was nice to just pick up the phone and spend WAY less.

If you plan to powdercoat them, I am sure the stampings will be buried, just FYI.

Thanks again Tony!

In addition to JH23's ask, can you also take a pic of the "barrel" in-between the two tire beads? This is the part that is covered by the tire when installed.

these wheels werent made to be counterfeits. they dont have the markings on the inside thats covered by the tire once the tire is installed.

they dont have, but we can add the stamp on the inside of the flange that contacts the drum/rotor once installed if thats what the picture requesters were trying to ask without asking

Very excited about these. I just spent two months digging up olds 442 rims to find it takes a pile of work to convert them to 450 wheels... The day I got my last one these were posted.. Good timing Tony! You got my machine shop money! Now I have some chevy door stops!

I assumed they wouldn't have the markings on the inside of the barrel. That's not why I was asking. I wanted to see the contour of the inner barrel and the tire beads.

Thanks for making these available to everyone...a much needed part! From the pictures, they look spot on.

I spent over 2 years to find a set of originals for my car. I would have bought these if they were available back then.

I salut you Sir!
Great job on a well needed part. I bought the 070 fan clutch & fan blade assembly from you as well as the vent window frames and B-body asttray insert and let me tell you all parts are balls on accurate, thanks again Tony....... A quick question Tony,as 6pacbee asked..... what are the chances of " H " wheels being repro'd in the future ?
Later, BUZZ

depending on how well these sell will effect the chances of making the 1969 15x6 "H" wheel

thank you for your interest

I'm assuming the licensed part is what costs all the money.

Is the whole wheel proprietary to Mopar or just the markings?

If it's just the markings does the price point change for a "bare" wheel?

What costs all the money is Tony sticking his neck out to make these. I’m sure he has had plenty of investments that have just not made enough to recoupe the cost of making them. You have to make them with a target price in mind and hope you sell enough to make some money in the long run. All the suttle changes need to please the restoration crowd cost money. If you are in business and don’t make money, then you go out of business.

If interest is a determining factor for reproducing the 'H' wheels, if a set of four was offered for $1000 today, I'd send a full deposit next week.

Tony, this may sound silly but could you tell me what a wheel weighs in at?

Thanks

no, but they are made by a wheel manufacturer that supplies some or maybe many U.S. based wheel companies

and like all of my products, they are made to my specs

the wheels weigh what the originals do, runout and balance out properly

the 071 is the Rallye Wheel

Now that there question could only come from a F.A.S.T/Pure stock weight watchers concern.
While you're at it Tony, is it too much to ask for an aluminum version to be stamped/punched/rolled out of the same mold for the steel ones?

yes, i believe there would be some safety concerns in addition to the metal braking differences between steel and aluminum
