Last month we traveled 4600 miles for a big car event in the center of Australia, had a blast camping and sight seeing there and back. The event is the Red Centre Nats that has a huge car show, burnout comp, drag racing, street parade, dyno and more, over 800 entries!!
I entered the drag racing and finished up with runner up, been a while since I last raced but my reactions were sweet, .003, .04, .02 and another .02 in the final but the converter done the mech diode and the car slowed 2 tenths.
Cant wait for next year..

Congrats! Cool magazine pic, too! It looks like the scoreboards are showing the reaction times when you're going down the track? Doesn't that take some of the mystery out of driving the finish line?

That's amazing! 800 entries is a blast, no doubt. Reaction times in elims???? Now that's interesting.

congratulations, I know it always makes me feel good when I manage to win some rounds. I checked out the event and it looks like a lot of younger people participate. Seems like the races I go to anymore here in the USA have a lot of gray hair, not as many younger people having fun burning rubber, cruising, etc. And usually few people in the stands, looks like a good time was had by all.

Yeah if they actually show reaction times during eliminations that would be a game changer for sure here!!

Congrats on the result for sure!

Actually in drag racing the runner-up is the LAST loser, but a guy that can't spell probably couldn't figure that out either.

Congrats on the Runner-up. That reaction time thing has me scratching my head...lol

Funny I did not notice the reaction time was showing during racing, they do not usually do that ???

That was not good Tex, my son was right near it, he ended up holding a picnic blanket up to shade the guy that was the worst burnt, at the same time people were poring water bottles over him.
It will not happen again, all burnout venues will have a solid wall and crowds will be kept back a bit in future.
