I found some aluminum rods that I am interested in, but they have Mopar wrist pin ends. Is it possible to install a .990 Chevy wrist pin bushing? I have never heard of this being done before.

Probably because the aluminum doesn't need to be bushed. But I can't see why you couldn't do it to achieve your goal of a smaller hole/pin.

I was looking at some 7.2" long rods with BBM big and small ends. I was wanting to change the small end to .990". Although, I really don't know how much weight the conversion would save. I'm basically looking for the longest rod I can find to fit an RB block with a 4.15 stroke and standard rod journal.

I talked to Ken Black about bushing a set of KB hemi rods and he said no problem. The only problem I can see is that there probably isn't a off the shelf bushing to do the job. Probably will have to have some made.

Finding a bushing shouldn't be an issue. I had my old six pack rods bushed with off the shelf bushings for .990" pins. I have CAT rods in my 500 now that I had 440source bushings pressed into for .990" pins.

Might check on the final cost to buy the rods and them have them bushed. Cannot imagine its a huge savings over a new set of rods frankly. FWIW I only use GRP and MPG for aluminum rods...
