is there a kit to eliminate the isolators ? or can you just cut them off and weld on new pads ?

Or simply get 71/72 lower/shock plates ( probably earliers work too??? ) fill the axle pedestal hole with a washer and remove the springs "hat" bushings from guide studs.

Maybe will need shorter U bolts too.

FWIW - You can also get poly bushings from PST.

I think he meant the spring pads used on 73 and lates assemblies. Which BTW are also available on poly.
