My 2 cents:
I don't know how you plan to drive the car, race, show or both.
I have a blown 383 stroker motor in my 56 chevy wagon. (I am a mopar guy, I am working on a 72 challenger) The car is for show and I race it at the nastalgia drags a couple of times a year (high 11's et)
I did some research on the smaller B&M blowers when I built the motor.
The smaller blowers use 2 lobed rotors. The 671 and larger use 3 lobed rotors. The smaller blowers can cause pulsating boost pressures in the manifold because of the 2 lobe design plus they can't move as much air/fuel. I have seen guys at the strip with the small blowers and I am not saying they are bad but I wonder if they would have better et's with a bigger blower. I just wanted more performance if I was going to spend the $ for a blower. Also, the blower and carbs sticking out of the hood looks awsome! If you do decide to go with one of the smaller blowers I would suggest the 177, the largest capacity of the 3.

Hello there. It's not a dedicated race car. not in any way. But I will take it to the track, think the closest one to me is in sacramento,ca. But yes, mostly street, show, maybe. Its not a show car, dont have a pretty paint job, but has a few nice things on it. I drive it often on the street, and I've read guys have used these blowers with great reliability on the street. Not to say the larger ones are not reliable in any way. I just dont have a short block that is built to handle the larger blowers.

I learned of the 2 lobed rotors on the small B&M blowers. I absolutely agree with you that guys running them would have better ET's and more power with the 6-71 series of blower. I am not looking for all out power, just a little bit more to add to my 320HP 318. I am new to the forced induction side of things and I am learning. I was thinking these smaller blowers would be better suited for me. I do have a lead on a 174, by itsellf, but nothing else. I have to come up with a manifold, the pulleys and idler setup as well.

I know that wont be cheap. I have to contact Bill Laney in Australia for a manifold, IF I choose to use his unit...About 1400 bucks...not cheap. but i realize blowers are not cheap. so if i do it little by little Ill get there.

I also would like to know more about the Indy Mod Man intake for supercharger use, I know they make the plate for the 671's but a custom plate will have to be made for the 174/177 blower..
