I had some Gabriel Hijackers on my car when i was in High School in the mid 90's. I drove that car my junior and senior year, and then 2 years after. NEVER did the air shocks fail or hurt the upper mounts. I dont know where to tell you to buy them now.

Why do you need to adjust ride height? The problem with air shocks is the upper bracket where they mount isn't made for that kind of abuse. So i have been told, but there is not any wear on that area and all looks good. I carry a lot of weight between people and stuff in the car and need to raise and lower it when needed. You do realize that the shocks with the helper springs on them that you have been trying to order are just as likely to damage the top mounts, for the same reason - the upper mounts aren't really designed to carry a load. Not that common with Mopars, but I've seen a lot of cars with air shocks or the shock helper springs snap the ear off of the lower shock bracket, too.
