When looking at set back lengths (Front brackets to axle center) for a 4 Link, when does it become too long and impractical?

I have seen kits as long as 28"-30"

Thanks
AL...

Not sure I have ever seen that length advertised, but I had a similar conversation with my chassis builder a few weeks ago. His only advice was to keep the bar lengths between 18 to 20" long. The vector that is produced between the pivot points are what determines instant center. That said, having alot of distance from the bracket mounting point to the bar pivot point will only decrease ridgidity at the pivot points and require more bracing.

With a long bar you will have less angles(choices)
to play with... sure you might have the same number of holes
but (we will say) 1/2 of the angle for each hole.
I built mine at 19"
