I sent Bob $4k to get aluminum Hemi castings ($2k) and progress payment (another $2k) for my SS Hemi heads last June. I drove up to Detroit using my vacation time and money to see what was going on. Bob and I talked for an hour or two and he said he would start on my heads the following week. That was over a month ago. I'm sure SS Hemi heads take some time and he probably can just run multiple sets of heads for standard porting programs and make more money than a specialized head. I wish he would send a month progress or lack of progress report. It kind of bugs me to see others jump in ahead of my stuff and get their parts in two weeks. I've always worked on a First In, First Out principal but there are always emergency items that pop up. I probably shouldn't have sent any more than the money for castings and then pay off the balance when they were done. It's killing the dream of having a SS Hemi car and making a NSS wedge car look more attractive.

When I was doing head porting for customers I would never take one red cent till the job was ready to leave my shop. It always kept me more motivated to finish the job and get it out the door. Some of you guys better rethink your way of doing business

I thought it was very cool of Marsh Performance to do business that way.
I Didn't have to give up one red cent until they were done and in the box ready to ship.

I wasn't worried or stressed about time or money because I didnt have anything invested.

Soon as I paid the heads arrived a couple days later.

Now that's awesome.
Needless to say I will be a repeat customer when I need some Big Block parts.

Guys were shocked when I refused money but after I explained they completely understood and thanked me for doing business that way. I always told them to have their heads at my shop by the end of October as I wanted to be able to concentrate on my stuff at least by the 1st week of March.

These are my heads. I had nothing to do with this thread! I have purposely kept off of "social media" because I do not believe in handling things this way. Period. There is "another side to this story" involving a 3rd party. When I found out what the issue was, I took care of it. Bob K has contacted me and he is proceeding with my work. The person that started this thread has nothing to do with my car. I am 63 years old and am more than capable of handling my issues on my own. I have seen their work and want Modern Cylinder Heads to do the work on my heads. I look forward to having them on my Super Stock car.

As far as I am concerned..... let's just say I am not in favor of people sticking their noses in my business on "social media" or anywhere else.

Well that went full circle ! To bash someone's business and livelihood without having any direct involvement in the transaction is a dick move.

I stated in the first post these were not my parts. I stepped on Waynes toes and have apologized to him. I still stand by my statement any business that takes parts and then sits on them for 13 months is not worth dealing with and there have been other posts about the tardiness of their work.

I've used MCH a few times for porting work and was always happy with the work. The porting work that Jeff did on my Indy EZ heads made a ton a power. The heads might have ended up a little on the fragile size since he went as big as he could, but they make 900+ hp which is way more than most EZ heads.

I'm sure the super custom stuff eats up time and if someone is ordering custom valvetrain parts to go with the port work then I would't be surprised if the job drags out a long time. The engine shop I work with has had a 638 inch Chevy engine sitting on the floor for over a year. It needed custom pistons, custom head gaskets, semi-custom heads, etc. The Jesel lifters needed to be rebuilt, the crank had to be turned, etc. The guy wanted to go racing last year and he won't make any passes this year either but it isn't really anyone's fault. Everyone has long lead times and when to try to get a boat load of custom stuff built it all drags out a long time.

Sorry to hear about your situation, hopefully everything works out and you get your engine back together and make some passes.

I know some head guys and engine shop guys. If they are worth a damn, they're busy and backed up. They are waiting on parts. You can't just swing by WalMart and pick this stuff up. They are by themselves or they are short of help because you can't just drag anyone in off the street and have them do this stuff and maintain quality. It's just how it is, especially in a very specialized discipline like Stock/Super Stock legal stuff.

Honestly, if I were going to run my chops and make someone mad at me, I'd pick my wife before I went after my engine guy. A good engine builder is harder to find.

I can tell you custom cylinder head work or development work takes time, plain and simple. My Predator stuff is on a second go around at a well known cylinder head shop, one of the best out there. They take time and money to make them right and make power..
