I got a friend of mine whos got a 1988 supra thats looking to put a 383 into, has anyone tried this swap? It appears there is enough room in the engine compartment and it also has a pretty large transmission tunnel. It looks like a truck oil pan would be the ticket for clearing the rack.

Sounds like the perfect, logical answer to the 69 Camaro in the new Hotrod mag with a Supra turbo motor in it!!!

Isn't the Supra's eng compartment larger than a Daytona,Reliant,Avenger,etc?? Do it and show the pics. I think it'd be pretty cool. Give some back to the GM guys that put their motors in everything.

fwiw, I have a 440 in my Dak and used a truck pan to clear my front cross member and rack..I just had to modify my pick up tube and windage tray. I already had these. Not positive whats available..

after more ivestigating it appears the only real obsticle will be fabricating the headers. iv eseen a couple of sbc conversions with twin turbos slung down low in the engine compartment, if that will fit i believe a 383 will.

it shouls work out good, im planning on doing a 97 240sx with a big block and viper six speed.
