I've been running the Milidon external for 6 or more years with any any issues nor have I ever replaced the green gasket. I do check to make sure the allen headed fasteners are tight when I have the oil filter off.

The negative reports make me nervous but I haven't had any problems...(yet)

We are now making billet external pumps. Take a look.

Nice options out there.

I've been running the billet oil pump cover with the hardened steel plate. No issues. its a shame they don't make them anymore, its a nice part.

Wish I would have picked up one when they were available..One thing about the Indy cover, milodon, or Muscle motors cover, being aluminum they were faster than you would ever expect. I guess when it gets pretty grooved up, it can be surfaced/planed etc.
I bet the stainless would were next to none compare to the aluminum counter part.

yea Dave that's what i figured. i sent them email asking if they were going to make another batch but from the posts here i guess not. i never liked the idea of running the pump gears against aluminum and only use the milodon pump for it's external entry, i prefer iron pumps.

OKAY, you guys have me spooked now! I've ordered a Hemi from RBRE & they're in the process now of starting to piece it together. At my request they're outfitting it with a Milodon system since I didn't have any problems with my previous one.
SOOO with all these alleged problems, what do you guys recommend. the thing's going in a Dart with an engineplate & stock front suspension, so space IS kind of an issue.

I was told that RBRE has thier own system that is fool proof, according to Bob Mazzolini Call RBRE and ask them about thier system and see if you may like it better.

You won't be disappointed. They are easy to pull apart and inspect also. I could detect the the fibers from rags used when I adjust the valves and wipe things off at the track and chips of paint off of the valve springs when torn down for inspection. Especially nice on fresh builds as well. Beep

I have a vintage Milodon system that has a replacement green gasket and isn't the gasket made out of kevlar?? Milodon says because of how slick it is it has the potential to drip, but they also emphasize making sure the two bolt are torqued down properly.

I battled with the Milodon system for years .

I works good when it works .

Spinning the engine over and not have oil pressure is acceptable.

I now have a Plueger oil pump .RCD sells them for $720.

CNC Machined from billet 7075-T6 aluminum and hard anodized for wear resistance.
Computer designed passages, chambers and porting provide exact requirements with proper timing and flow.
Heat treated chrome-moly Gerotor gears.
Complete systems engineered for funny cars and dragsters each with stainless steel swept bend tubing and fittings.
Systems available with barbed fittings for slip-on rubber hose or with AN fittings for braided hose.
All pump fittings have been computer designed and machined to provide maximum flow at minimum weight. Standard AN fittings are not used because of their stepped interiors which restrict flow.
Each pump is flow tested and pressure checked
