I just put a 340 in my sons 71 Scamp. 555 lift cam .030 10.5:1 Ported 69 X-Heads,Holley 600 (for now), automatic, 323 sure grip street car. I broke a piece out of the LD4B intake while removing the temp sensor. Im going to get it repaired but wondering if it would benefit me a lot to go with a different intake. I read that the LD4B is better on a 273 or 318. I have a chance to trade for a Weind Stealth. Are there any thoughts on the Stealth? I can buy a used Edelbrock Air Gap at a decent price to. Any experience will be appreciated. Thanks

Im thinking that I should go with the Air Gap on the 340 Scamp and use the LD4B on my 318 Challenger.
All MOPARS & nothig else.

A Performer intake is slightly better than the stock and weights less. With a 1/2- 1" spacer that intake wakes up. Don't remember the # but the one that fits the 360 will work.
I don't think you are thinking about the Performer. It's not better than stock and there is exactly one Performer intake, there isn't another "that fits the 360". The Performer fits all the LA's and has port sizing a bit smaller than the stock 4bbl intake. Other than being lighter the stock intake is a better choice as is.
They say there are no such thing as a stupid question. They say there is always the exception that proves the rule. Don't be the exception.

I have a chance to trade for a Weind Stealth. Are there any thoughts on the Stealth? I would do the trade & you'll be up & running in no time with virtually no cash outlay. I'm sure it has 360 ports & the dual plane will be what you need for your combo/app & your square bore carb will bolt right on. Keep It Simple Sam.

As I stated earlier, I would go with the Air-Gap with your combo, ditch the 600 cfm (too small) and maybe try a 750 3310 Holley.

Wow! Someone with sense and truth! Crackback, autoxcuda nailed it for you. I like the 750 cfm idea.

I ran a Stealth on my 69 Valiant for a few years and it worked fine. Nearly the same front end sheetmetal as the 71 Scamp, and there are a number of ways to make it fit under the hood. I frequently used an old Moroso drop-base with a different lid, and I've used a factory-style unsilenced air cleaner with different height filter elements. The Stealth is pretty tall, but not crazy. It also came with ports at the gasket face that were small enough to work on a 318 head, but were easily opened up to 340 size. I gasket-matched mine to line up better with the later 360 heads. Old pic, right after I got it back together: I've got a Magnum M1 EFI intake on the car now, and the old unsilenced air cleaner JUUUUUUUST fits under the hood. I keep a big Sharpie pen in the car to touch up the little spot where it air cleaner rubs the brace under the hood... Clair
