I got a few parts hung together today just to see what issues I'll be running into. I've never done a cross ram on Indy heads before so I figured that I had better do some checking. First thing I see is that I'll need to do a custom valley cover. That will turn the cross ram into an air gap manifold. Air gap cross ram! Doesn't exactly roll off the tongue. One nice thing about the Indy heads is that they jack the cross ram up in the air far enough that tall valve covers clear just fine.

Andy, Does it have a prayer of fitting under your hood or are you going to a scoop? Looks good in any case.

Andy, i'm sure your linkage will be very trick.....but i have to say, the OE stuff does in fact work perfectly on those things.

The OE stuff might work just fine but have you seen the price? List price for the reproduction linkage kit is over $300. Here is a shot down the valve cover to show the clearance. Tall MP cover goes on even with studs.

STR-15, the crossrams are spendy though and they are different than the non-Xrams. A custom top can be made for the other style though

wow, those heads stick way up above the end walls of the block. did indy raise those ports that much?
i always kind of liked the looks of the crossram, especially on a motor like in the attachment.

I think you should make the valley tray with a tube of silicone on the end gap like the stock gaskets do. That is what all of the Max Wedge motors have, just like the Hemis and small block mopars
