I have (had) one on my 68 318 cuda from a 74 440 and just a little tuneing made it run good, no jet or rod changes. It got 29 mpg one time so it is not running too rich. I would try it as is and report back any running problems.

Jet-it-down ? ... not necessary !! ... just RAISE the tree if it is a touch rich.

Dont you mean lower the tree? If you lower the tree, that will put the metering rod deeper in to the jet, making it leaner.

As alluded to above, you don't need to re-jet unless the carb is a post '74 passenger car T.Q. with smogger calibration. All '71-'74 T.Q.'s can be run as-is without re-jetting. The engine will only use the exact air and gas it needs thanks to the sophistication of these carbs. All three main circuits, idle, cruse and wot(hi speed)can be 'dialed-in' externally to compensate for weather and atmospheric conditions etc. So you can easily tune for max performance and gas mileage, David.

By the way, this pic confirms the flexibility of a Thermoquad!
