I have been building this car for years with many challenges and changes
I have been driving it on the street for a little while trying to get a decent enough tune in it
I finally got to the track this week.
I was nervous, for my first time out, but had good people coaching me.

I Learned a lot. How to heat up the tires, stage, all that stuff. smirk

I am happy with the results and hope to have at it again.

Runs in order
10.48@119.18 went right and left off Went right again

10.22@140. went right again but got on it again

9.831@141.58 adjuster the ladder bar

10.22@140.24 injector duty cycle at 100% frown (yikes added more fuel pressure to compensate for now New injectors to install

9.765@138.98 Rich condition up top

9.835@139.20 popping

9.790@127.41 mis-fired or tune /injector issue and let off

Great fun wink

I am looking for any advise for a newbie ?

1. I wrote on the back of the time slips some of the adjustments that we made... but a log book looks like a better idea

2. good suggestion from a fellow racer to pull a plug at the end of the track and replace with another on my drive back to get a better read on the plugs

Other ideas???

It's going to fly when you get it dialed in. Nice car/combo

Log book is a good idea. Also grab a cheapo thermometer. Only make one change at a time. Develop a starting ritual and don't deviate. Is your hood scoop sealed to the throttle body? I don't know why you would develop a rich misfire. Would have to be extremely rich. Check for valve float, rev limiter, plug gap, are your plug wires zip tied together or spread out?

What efi system are you using? Curious because some systems really can cause chaos if duty cycle goes static. Are you sure you're not just over fueling the program at higher rpms? If you can look at pulsewidths in your fuel table, make sure at each load point that your pulsewidth doesn't increase once you get past peak TQ rpm.

1. One thing at a time is very good advise
2. The hood is not sealed and it just has the air filter sitting on an elbow
3. We maxed out on the injector I did not expect to make the boost numbers that it did. The procharger is turned way down
4 some wires are together
5 valve float, hmm didnt thought of it. We didn't expect 15 lbs I was aiming at 8-10 lbs I will check on what springs were used

Its a 500 inch 8.5 compression Indy Ez heads with a little clean up and a F1X procharger
small crack pulley tooth (7 inch) and 44 tooth on the head
So it reva at around 56000 rpm
The max for this supercharger is 72000 rpm
It can certainly be bumped up a lot!

Its a fast XFI program

It had 83 lb injectors and a 2 bar sensor

I will be adding 120 lb injectors and change to a 3 bar map sensor
And then we will need to remap everything

Do you have any suggestions on keeping datalog and program files?

I like to save all the table with a specific name
and then name the datalog file the same same for comparison

It makes for a log of files but I find it easier to compare

You should be data logging each run and see what's happening. Name each run a brief description of the run.

Wow that's one heck of a car for a first time racer. You're flying!

Yep, nice car and super fast! Sometimes less is more when making boost. Just dial in the tune for max. efficiency and it will fly!

Not really, look at the requirements and make sure you know and understand all the steps and practice as needed to past each one the first time as tested up
On the safety gear like the suit, gloves and neck collar looser may be better than to tight, depending on how you like them work
On the hat make sure it is snug, not loose and make sure and tighten the chin strap before pulling the car out to of the burn out up twocents
I try to make sure and pull the shoulder straps down tight before pulling out of the staging lanes also up
I have for gotten more than once, luckily I didn't crash the car and get beat up from the loose straps realcrazy

Changing one thing at a time is the right way to go, unless you have data to tell you exactly what needs to be done, and you can varify independent results for each change, like using a data logger system.
