Apparently there are two different "Barracuda" script emblems available in reproduction. One is all chrome and the other has a black trim around the border.
Anybody know which is correct?

So which are you asking about, the Formula S emblem, or the "Barracuda" script emblems?
The Formula S emblem with the chrome perimeter is for 1965-68 and is reproduced. NOS versions are on ebay.
Only the 1969 Formula S emblem has a black perimeter as shown in this photo. But it is not reproduced AFAIK. Before about 2009 these used to be reproduced by Layson's. I have never seen any '69 NOS emblems for sale. Pretty much unobtainable now.
If you don't see two dolphins, you need a vacation.

I believe the original ones on the fenders are brushed look and painted
As far as the formula S on the fender 66 to 68 are the same. 65 is different the pins are 9 and 3 o clock.

68 Barracuda fender scripts are all chrome, the trunk lid script is brushed.
'67 & '68 Barracuda FB's

They are asking about the script as stated, the research so far shows them both ways and no pattern has been established. I'll have the owner look at the ones we pulled off of it, for all the research sometimes the obvious is overlooked.
