My son is restoring a 73 Charger Rallye. We need a good set of grilles, but are seeing different ones out there. I know 71-72 cars very well, but not sure on the subtle differences on the 3-4 cars.

There are plain grey grilles, grilles with the horizontal red stripe and some have a chrome strip around the perimeter. Which are which? I assume the red stripe are SE only?? I want to believe that the 3-4 grilles are different from each other, but not sure. I know someone will know this. I will check brochures, but that sometimes backfires too...

73 74 are the same. The difference is SE. They have chrome on the edge and a red piece down the center. Rallye should be plain gray (argent silver)

The horizontal stripe looks like SE only according to the dealer data guide.

This page shows what's in the Rallye package. It doesn't say anything about a different grill in the Rallye.

I know you didn`t ask but just for your info the tail lights are standard on the Rallye also. The SE uses a chrome edge on the housing and painted silver edging on the lenses.

No just plain gray on non SE grilles, actually blacked out areas between the fins
