Kath.. I've been running the Merziere pump for about 15 years.. I have 2 of them.. very good product EDIT Also.. they make 3 versions of the electric pump.. a 35,42 and a 55 gal per minute.. the 35 is all you need for racing but for the street you might want to step up in volume.. I'm thinking about changing the motor on my smaller one to put in a 55GPM in my hot rod.. I havent had any issue with the smaller one but it is a option(and its just a motor change

Dustedu please share the water pump set up. Probably one something like this. My small tire car came with one mounted on the frame and I bought two of Andy's water manifolds. http://www.jegs.com/i/Meziere/680/WP136S/10002/-1

Meziere is the way to go. One other thought why not get a cooling station like the stock/super stock guys use? It takes 5 minutes to drop engine temp below 100 degrees. If you are doing that much hot lapping what about trans temps?

Use a 8 blade pump mech pump Air cool between round using a electric rad fan The electric water pumps are for all out race car with between round charging. Is this car a drag only car? . I've never had any issues with a electric water pump.. look at production cars.. they run electric.. if they have the flow(most do) there wont be any issue

I bought a CSR pump back in 2007 for my Dakota and ran it as a daily driver till 2009, last year the motor finally died. Contacted CSR and bought a new motor for it, swapped it out and works great when my engine is in the truck, lol.

Dusting off this thread, as I am curious: Has anyone used this pump and figured out a way to hook up heater hoses? I have two threaded ports on the Indy intake; one location can be one heater hose but the other one one will source engine temp. Just wondering out loud if it's possible. Thanks!

Just a guess, but if you drill and tap that anywhere on the flat portion near the block water inlets I imagine it would divert some water to the heater core, but I don't know if it would be enough or not. See my poor illustration with the blue area being the area to open up for a fitting.

I guess a concern would be that the heater core ends up the path of least resistance and that side of the engine doesn't get as much flow as the other side. I don't drive mine much in the winter so when I do I just plan on freezing lol.

You need to remember that for water to flow through the heater one side is on the inlet side (bottom hose) of the radiator water pump inlet(suction) and the other side, intake manifold fitting is on the outlet side( hot water to the heater)
