I'v used felpro printoseal intake gaskets in the past (SB) that have the blue thin border around the intake port openings. I'm wondering to save some money if I can get a sheet of gasket material & cut my own? If so what type as I see several types of sheets available on eBay. thank you for your time.

I've made my own gaskets with a sheet of the papery type gasket material. Usually if I'm in a bind of need a gasket that isn't in production anymore or just not worth the $ I will make one.

Sounds good, I didn't think those blue borders were super critical (tho they do work to seal I'm sure) & I will get a sheet of name brand material & use some sealer & call it good.

I've seen guys use nothing but Permatex Ultra Grey, so any kind of rubberized paper + sealer should be better than that.

I believe the Printoseal intake gaskets are reusable unless you've messed them up with glue.

they did shred when they came off (no glue). Alright I think I will go ahead & get a sheet of 1/16" victor reinz material (its cheap). they make some replacement rope seals for SB's (works for BB too) so they oughta know what they are doing & be puttin out a quality product.

I use old school MR gasket SB intake gaskets with no issues. They are basically a piece of gasket material precut.

I dont feel like paying the price for the printoseals especially since I dont need the front/rear end seals that come with em. If I cut some gaskets I will get a better fit plus with some sealer it should be good.
