I've got a Milodon 440 water pump with the cavitation plate "loose" on the impeller. The plate is not tight on the rivets that hold it on the blades. And it rattles when turned freehand. Still usable or not? Just a question.

Fix it, use it

They say there is always the exception that proves the rule.

Likely it will continue to get looser & clearances might be taken up & something will hit & efficiency is being lost as is. Yes I would weld it
