First post, and my first Mopar.
I bought a 1970 Barracuda Gran Coupe hardtop, 2bbl 383 with 727 auto. The parts that aren't rusted are Jamaica Blue Metallic. The interior is blue. No build sheet, and no fender tag.
Chassis serial number starts with BP23LOE, trans matches... (edit)
I'm replacing a huge number of chassis sheet metal parts with new AMD parts, and am now deciding on fixing and wondering if more modern components will ruin it.
Did a bit of forum searching and saw references to GG's "white book". Don't know what GG is, total newbie. Maybe that will help.
Thoughts?

First of all welcome to the board! This place is great for information. That being said, it's just like a little town here in Texas that has a sign on the highway coming into town, " The home of 9,321 fine people and a few old soreheads! So remember, you will get a lot of oppinions from the popcorn crowd. Imho, is build it with mods the way you want it. A 383 2 barrel GC is not a sought after car like a Cuda. The modded up cars with late model engines are bringing good money. I have the exact same car at the shop with no motor or trans. I doubt if it will ever get built by me. It even has the original paint. I'm sure I will sell it someday and the new owner will change it up from factory.

I recently picked up an original triple black 72 340 Barracuda, not as valuable as a 70, but probably worth a few bucks done original... but making an aar style clone with it, just modernized for a daily driver. Unless your going to sell it, don't worry about the value and do it how you want it... I'd keep it blue, not sure how rare that color is in 70, but believe there are very few in 71.

Without a fender tag or build sheet to prove how the car was born, you might just as well build it the way you want it. The value in a factory stock build is being able to prove its correct. Chrysler historical may have records that will help, however if the car isn't a 70 Hemi Cuda or rare optioned car then the car's value isn't going to be effected all that much by mods.

Thank you everyone for wise advice.
The serial numbers on the window VIN, door sticker, radiator frame, motor and trans all match (all oe108315). I'll keep the matching numbers motor and trans with the car. The matching motor came separate, a different 383 is in the car - it came with two motors.
I'm replacing the much of the back half (quarters, trunk pan, deck, tail panel, rear under seat) with AMD parts. Good time to consider making space for modern tires and suspension.
